A Chocolate Mantra

Draw deep,
Dance freely,
Smile often,
Laugh more,
Love fully,
Dream always.

Robin Hood

Lost in the forest of my soul,
I feel you close in the breeze.
Your lips brush my ears in the songs of the winds.
You stoke the heat of my passions.
You are the air it needs to breathe.
In my mind,
I sit by a creek,
Barefoot.
Loving the time alone.
To have you close would make my house a home.
You are my Mother Nature.
Together or not,
You,
Have always been within,
Me.

Another Snip-It From My Mind

Dark appeal settling into my breath,
Just like some,
But unlike the rest.
Soft and rough,
Smooth and coarse,
Young passion and energy,
From an age old source.
Romantic mystery,
Read page by page,
To the ear,
Of an undying sage.
Forever to live,
But one life to give.
Solitude sound,
Heard all around.
Exhale,
As you tighten my soul.
Taking,
Parts of me to be whole.

Just another day.

I remember so many stories in the sound of boiling water, the crack of black pepper on a fresh steak as it hits the searing hot grill, the melted ice cream left over on the counter from the spoon or scoop or whatever it is was used to get it into the soul. I hear them from in my sub-conscience, deep within the memories of every single time I peeled an onion, made a dish of pasta, washed the seals around the fridge door. To close my eyes and think, every onion was a moment in time a short story in my memoires. Every night I would open the walk-in fridge door. Every time I called out “Walking in…”. Every time I read 3 tablespoons…8 cups…; Crushed; Chopped; Preheat; Boil; Season to taste. That’s the trick. Season to taste. Every day turns out to be another of the same day. But the choice remains in the palate of the life-eater… What is your taste? No what matter what it is, enjoy! Bon Appetit!
